[05:52] xremembertheend: BUT NOT ME!?!?!?!
why did we start 16oh? well, me and jason used to talk a lot about how we'd love to put out records.
we both had very similar tastes in what we wanted to put out, so we both got this silly idea to put out an ep.
at the time this band called sidetracked, you may or may not heard of, needed an ep released.
well being complete nerds, we agreed to release the record, and spent a few agonizing months putting together the money and everything needed to get the record out.
after skirmishes with sketchy mob dudes in new jersey, ups breaking boxes of records, and silly covers, we finally got our first release out.
the feeling upon listening to the first record we had ever put on vinyl, was one i cannot really describe.
it seems silly, but it felt like i stepped into a bigger world at that point.
ever since that record, jason and i have both been questing forward, putting out what we feel are some of the most important records right now.
we hope in some way to be encouraging other people to do silly things, and to revive hardcore in one way or another.
we've been around a year and change now, and we've got just about ten records out.
we hope to blow your mind this summer with the impending release of pretty much every type of record you could imagine.
and for the record, the name 16oh came from jason and i's collective love of the wu tang clan, and the band 16.
if you are not familar with either, you should be. check out the song "protect ya neck" by the wu tang clan, for extra credit.
also for the record, it's pronounced "one six oh". not "sixteen oh" or "one six o h" or "one sixty h". just "one six oh". don't ask why.
Note: Salsa shark. We're gonna need a bigger boat. Man goes into cage, cage goes into salsa, shark's in the salsa.
